![]() if adding tunnels remember need to have access to the track therein.īest wishes and I look forward to your further work. it will also determine the length of trains and cars you will be able to run (passenger cars in HO do not look too at home on smaller radius curves. thus, if you are able to move the turntable and roundhouse to outside of that loop it will provide greater realism.įinally, with the 22" radius curves in the loops, hiding that track in tunnels will make it easier on the eyes. while many layout designs tend to run track around the roundhouse it is not very prototypical. You might use a siding or two, but dont toss in a yard simply because theres unused space. Too many beginners invest all their time and effort into the trains. Geoff, I suggest you build a town inside the loop. ![]() You can also place buildings trees, mountains, hidden. ![]() dream layout and envision not only what will work but what you need for track. I drew this with their free limited version that limits you to 50 track pieces. If I did the math correctly, it is at a 3+% incline.to provide 4.5" roadbed to roadbed clearance. That is a very steep incline except for the shortest of trains with good pulling locos. My first concern is, if I understand correctly, the helix being 24" radius track in HO Scale? it is a creative design and I like the loop to loop with crossover reversing possibilities.
