However other photo software will be able to take advantage, eg PTGui. LR only uses the GPU in restricted circumstances so I don't think you will see much improvement. this sounds like some sort of short term memory factor which alludes me to think either computer memory or video memory could improve this. however, even on the same photos, the sluggishness would return if lightroom was restarted. after i done some work/view on it, it is abit faster. *note, i do find that these sluggishness only happens when i open the raw photo for the 1st time. Also when zooming into the photo to 1:1 for pixel inspection, it takes 2-3 seconds which is even worse. In lightroom, I find that changing the sliding bars often take about 1 second or so to get reflected, which i find abit annoying and would love to improve this. Overall, i want to improve the snappiness of lightroom. Will this improve performance at all for Lightroom usage, and video editing such as premiere and sony vegas? rest of my specs: amd f圆300 6 cores, 16gb ram, SSD drive. Being a casual gamer I was thinking of upgrading my current AMD r9 290x 4GB to AMD rx 480 8GB.
